July 2004 Archives

July 20, 2004

Some pretty big shakeups in big league coaching jobs, most involving RBI'ers. Bob Brenley was axed as Diamondbacks manager, but was quickly replaced the All-Star enigma Al Pedrique. Maybe some success at the coaching level will make his FAQ entry obsolete. But for now nobody still knows who he is. Phil Garner was also named manager of the Astros, so we netted one RBI'er in the big league ranks. Denny Walling was fired awhile ago as the Mets hitting coach as well. Those who play RBI could see this coming from a mile away. Anyway, the where are they now? page has been fully updated. Let me know if I missed someone...

On the 2004 RBI Tournament front, we have finally got around to getting some videos online. Check out this forum thread for a good 6-8 videos. You'll see pre-tourney interviews, Potsie being drunk and chasing people with his underpants, the ending to a great game etc. Good stuff but it's just the tip of the iceberg...

On that note, happy birthday to Potsie as he hits the ripe age of 27. His profile has been updated...
