More work on the FAQ, all dealing with the fielding section. Added the following quesitons:

  • What is a BOP?
  • Do players have their own fielding stats?
  • Are some teams more prone to making errors?
  • Do bench players make more errors in the field?
  • Do pitchers make more errors in the field?
  • Does throwing the ball too quickly increase your chance of making an error?

A lot of RBI Urban Legends debunked there, including a couple that I belived until about two weeks ago. Check out the fielding section for the questions themselfves, too lazy to link each one...

Also been a busy month on the forums with over 4000 posts and 23 new members. Dee-Nee is taking over the world, or something...

Biggest update to the actual site was my reorganization of the RBI Baseball FAQ. I broke everything down into categories, making it much easier to find the RBI info you so desperately crave. Along the way I made a bunch of small updates for some woefully outdated information. It still has some erroneous info, but I plan to add at least 10 questions and alter 10 more by the time I leave for Ohio on Friday. So stay tuned...

A new entry for the RBI Hall of Shame - Charlie Kerfeld and his strange negotiating habits. Hopefully every RBI'er will make the list, so send me any embarassing or odd moments involving an RBI player...

On the RBI hacking front, nightwulf and I made more headway into the internals of the game. We pooled our talents to create the ultimate online RBI ROM - you can now select the same team as your opponent and pause from either controller. Think of the possibilities!

Happy 44th birthday to perennial RBI sub Al Pedrique. Though he doesn't get the playing time in RBI, it deserves mention. To honor his special day, I've updated my who the hell is Pedriq on the NL All-Stars FAQ entry to mention that he's managing the Diamondbacks...

There have been some major happenings in the world of RBI this week. The biggest news is that we finally have Online RBI working! This means you can now connect to dee-nee.com and play against a friend/enemy/stranger over the Interet. It works surprisingly well, see the new FAQ entry for all the details on how to set this up. This is likely going to be the biggest advance to the RBI Baseball Community since the RBI Forum went online. Get to work people...

If that wasn't enough of a bombshell for one week, resident RBI Technical guru has unlocked two major mysteries of the game itself. He has figured out how contact works. This has been this biggest mystery in RBI, great job buddy. You think that's it? He also unlocked the mystery of how BOPs (aka errors) work. Both items need an update in the FAQ but check out the forum links for now. Impressive...

It keeps going... Longtime ROM creator JRG has a new site on the rbicentral network with all the ROMs he's created - JRG's RBI ROMs. I have removed all JRG's ROMs from my ROMs page and simply linked to his site. I also added nighwulf's hacked RBI (letting both players call timeout) and RBI3 (you can now play the hidden 1985 Cardinals team) ROMs to my page.

Finally, one music review - Lamb of God - As the Palaces Burn...

First off, everyone's favorite webmaster turned a immature 27 this week. At some point here I'm going to have to be labeled an adult, though not without a fight. I swear I just graduated college, but that's what they all say. My page has been updated, see link above...

Good news for RBI fans everywhere - the Big Cat is back!. The Angles signed him and hopefully he'll make the big league roster in no time. With all the crap he's had to deal with, Andres deserves another run at the big leagues. Especially since he hit over .300 last year. Good luck Big Cat, we're rootin for ya...

In yet another glorious advancement for the Dee-Nee community, a chatroom has been added to the forums. Simply have java installed on your PC, register as a member and talk RBI in real time. As if this site didn't waste enough manhours at work... Current discussion as I type this are the intricies of RBI 3, the morality of using a cell phone on the crapper and organizing a gathering of RBI'ers in California. Most on company time, I love it...

A couple additions to the Links Page - a great writeup on the 1986 Mets and our sponsored pages of Al Pedrique and Tom Brookens.
