May 2003 ArchivesMay 19, 2003Lipitz did a search on Kazaa awhile back and discovered three RBI mp3s, all of which are from sounds in the game. They are the Intro music, runners on base music and game music with empty bases. Like anything else related to videos/pics/sounds of RBI, you can find it all on the Media Page... There has been quite a bit of ROM hacking going on, and much about the game has been revealed on the forums. I have pretty much found the locations of all the text in the game, which will hopefully translate into more features for the soon-to-be-released RBI Editor of nightwulfs. A special thanks goes out to CLyon's RBI 2K3 ROMs for sparking all the interest. Most of us took an extended break from ROM hacking, but it's good to be back... And the mystery of the home run fireworks has been solved, check my new FAQ Question to learn how many fireworks will come for each type of homer. Yes, I am a dork...
May 13, 2003Though I have known about it for many months, I have finally rid my page of the erroneous Groundball Attribute. If you don't know what I'm talking about, read my updated FAQ question regarding the GBA. I have gone through and put every hitter's actualy 2-byte power rating (in decimal form) on the Team Pages.
I am also proud to announce a great new RBI site - Chet Lyon's RBI Baseball 2K3 page. What Chet did is create three RBI ROMs to include all 30 Major League Teams, updated with the current lineups and stats. What sets this apart from the other hacked RBI ROMs is the accuracy of the stats/lineups and the fantastic job he did with editing the text and teams in the game. Please check it out! May 12, 2003Chris Hill was kind enough to point out that I had Corbett's name wrong on the California Page, it's Doug not Shane. I kind of knew that, but it's been the wrong guy all these years. His name has been changed, as well as his nickname. We never called him "Shane-Dogg" anyway, it's always been Cor-bay as in "The champagne is not Corbay" - thanks again Chris... There's a great forums thread about alternate RBI nicknames. In fact, two were so good that we added them to our team writeups - Paul Molitor (Pauly Walnuts) and Andre Dawson (Booger from revenge of the nerds, aka Dudley Dawson). While scanning, I also added Don Sutton's established nickname of The Smutton and Marc Sullivan's new nickname of Stinky Sullivan (Growing Pains reference). You have any more RBI nicknames, add them to the forums thread... Some much-needed cleaning of the main page has been done as well - all updates from November 2002 to March 2003 have been moved to the Archives Page. It keeps the front page smaller and is in general a good thing...
May 6, 2003If you didn't see it over on the forums, our RBI Tourney 2003 ended up in a four-way tie. This means all four of us went 3-3 in the Round Robin. As a result, we will replay the entire tournament in a month... I cleaned up my FAQ question about Playing RBI on your Computer, hopefully that will clear things up a bit. I get plenty of questions about it still, so obviously I didn't do a good job explaining it...
May 3, 2003It's here baby!!! Today is the day for our yearly RBI Tournament. All the blood, sweat and beers go down to this day. Four men go in, one man stumbles out... For up to the minute updates on the tourney, bookmark our forum thread... I have added a few great individual games on the Records Page. That includes my very rare dinger with Steve Lake yesterday. I hope to add or change at least 4 records after tonight's tourney... Dee-Nee!
